Putting Your BREAST Foot Forward

Boobs are for girls. There, I said it.

We know that being obese is a pretty good way for a man to have prominent breasts, but there are some thin men with breasts too, and you don’t want to be one.

Gynecomastia is the benign enlargement of breast tissue in males… Gynecomastia may arise as an abnormal condition associated with disease… or metabolic disorders, as a side-effect of medication, or as a result of the natural decrease of testosterone production in older males.

This would make a helluva halloween costume.

We’ve learned before that decreased testosterone is a problem for men of all ages. We also took a look at some causes of the decrease.

So first step in avoiding man boobs (or moobs, scientific term) is making sure your testosterone is in order.

You’ll also want to clear up any of those medications that could be filling out your bro (that’s man-speak for bra). This includes anti-depressants, heartburn medications, anti-balding medication, blood-pressure pills, or medications for migraine treatment. Oh yea, smoking pot (marijuana) is a big one too.

All that stuff above is important for overall health as well. Testosterone is an ENORMOUS component of overall health, and those medications are really just tiny, side effect-laden band-aids to fix symptoms of larger problems. So you should fix all that stuff regardless of whether your sweater puppies are getting big enough to cause back pain.
